February Student of the Month
Sophia Reichert
|
|
Hi! What an honor to be nominated for Student of the Month! I’m Sophia (or Sophie—I answer to both). I started visiting Pole Revolution here and there in the spring whenever my job kept me in town long enough. After leaving my travel job, I was eager to invest in both the local community and myself, and PR gave me that opportunity! Although I initially tried a few apparatuses, my first lyra class hooked me! I love being in the hoop, especially at PR. Classes are consistently the highlight of my day and the best way to get out of my head after work. Aerial has taught me to trust my body and has become a way to pour so much love back into myself. I also love being a beginner at something new. Learning alongside such supportive, joyful people feels like a rare gift.
When I’m not at the studio, I’m likely spending time with words (reading and writing them), trail running with my huskies and partner, bouldering, cooking, or playing games. I also love being outside! Whether I’m skiing and soaking in hot springs in the winter or camping and backpacking in the summer, I am drawn to the mountains.
PR is such a special place, and I’m so grateful to be part of this community. It’s truly my favorite space in Colorado Springs. A special shoutout to my OG instructor, Burgundy—thank you for giving me a place to laugh, be myself, and grow. I’m so grateful for your friendship and for the solid human you are! I also want to thank Brittany and Hanna for all their encouragement and for challenging me in the hoop. Y’all create spaces worth coming back to every week! I feel so lucky for the friendships I’m forming at the studio and can’t wait to see what this year brings. Thank you again for the nomination and for creating such a special place in the Springs!
